Kikore Legal

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 27 October 2026

This policy explains what personal data Kikore collects, why we collect it, who we share it with and the rights you have over it. It is written to meet the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applies to every visitor and member of the platform.

1. Who we are

Kikore is a global business development and matchmaking platform that connects companies, business developers, service providers, investors, chambers of commerce, associations and public bodies across borders.

For the personal data described in this policy, Kikore acts as the data controller. This policy applies to the Kikore website and platform, including member profiles, public collaboration pages and hosted member pages.

2. What we collect

  • Account data: name, email address, password (stored hashed by our authentication provider), preferred language and communication preferences.
  • Profile and business data you choose to provide: company name, role, countries of origin and target markets, business types and categories, collaboration needs, website and social links, logo and images, phone number and messenger handles.
  • Content you create: collaboration pages, hosted pages, documents, tasks and messages you send through the platform.
  • Usage data: pages viewed, actions taken in the app, device and browser type, approximate location derived from IP address, and referral source.
  • Consent data: your cookie and marketing choices, and the date and time you gave them.
  • Verification data: whether your email address has been verified, and the codes and tokens used for that verification.

3. Why we use it and our legal bases

We process personal data only where we have a legal basis to do so:

  • Performance of a contract — to create your account, publish your pages, provide matchmaking and the collaboration features you request (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
  • Legitimate interests — to keep the platform secure, prevent abuse and fraud, verify organizations, improve our features and analyse aggregate usage, balanced against your rights (Art. 6(1)(f)).
  • Consent — for analytics and marketing cookies and for optional email series. You can withdraw consent at any time and it will not affect processing carried out before withdrawal (Art. 6(1)(a)).
  • Legal obligation — to keep records where accounting, tax or other law requires it (Art. 6(1)(c)).

4. Public information

Kikore is a connection platform, so the profile fields you mark as public are visible to anyone who has the link to your page, including visitors who are not signed in. Fields you mark as registered, pro, matched or private are not published on your public page.

Search engines and other visitors may index or copy your public page. Do not publish information you are not authorized to share, and remember that public content may be cached after you change or remove it.

5. Who we share data with

We do not sell personal data. We share it only with processors and partners that help us run the platform, under contracts that limit their use of it:

  • Hosting, database and authentication providers that store and serve the platform.
  • Email and notification providers that deliver verification emails, transactional messages and the onboarding series you asked for.
  • Payment providers (for example Stripe) that process subscriptions; card details are entered on the provider's own systems and never stored by us.
  • AI service providers that process the text you submit to AI features so we can return the requested result.
  • Authorities, when we are legally required to disclose data.

6. International transfers

Our providers may process data outside your country, including the United States. Where personal data protected by the GDPR leaves the European Economic Area, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK Addendum, together with provider security commitments.

7. How long we keep it

  • Account and profile data: for as long as your account is active.
  • Public page content: until you change or remove it, or delete your account, subject to the caching described above.
  • Verification tokens: 24 hours, then deleted or invalidated.
  • Analytics records: aggregated or pseudonymized after 24 months.
  • Records we must keep by law (for example invoicing records): for the period the law requires.

8. Your rights

If you are in the EEA, the UK or another jurisdiction with equivalent laws, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate data and complete incomplete data.
  • Delete your data where we no longer need it.
  • Restrict or object to processing based on legitimate interests.
  • Receive your data in a machine-readable format and transfer it elsewhere.
  • Withdraw consent for cookies, analytics or email series at any time.
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

9. Cookies and tracking

Essential cookies are always active: they keep you signed in, remember your consent choice and protect forms against abuse. Analytics and marketing tags are loaded only after you explicitly accept them in the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time, and declining is as easy as accepting.

We store your consent decision in your browser and record the choice with the time it was made so we can demonstrate compliance.

10. Security

Passwords are stored hashed by our authentication provider. Access to member data is restricted to the member who owns it and to platform administrators who need it to operate the service, and every backend operation is authorized on the server. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your data, we will notify you and any relevant authority where the law requires it.

11. Children

Kikore is a business platform. It is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a minor created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

12. Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the platform evolves. Material changes will be announced in the app or by email before they take effect, and the update date at the top of this page always reflects the current version. To exercise your rights or ask a question about this policy, contact us from your account dashboard.
